After automatic and manual accessibility testing had been conducted, it was found that the Work Ealing
website generally conforms to the WCAG 2.2. accessibility standards. There were a few standards that
were not conformed to according to the tests that had been conducted. The standards that were not
conformed to have been outlined below alongside the reasons why they were not conformed to
- 1.1.1. Non-text Content
The 'RSS Feed' on the website contains nine instances on one page whereby images have not been
given text alternatives. This means users reliant upon assistive technology will be prone to
misunderstanding the context of these images.
- 1.3.1. Information and Relationships
The 'Vacancy Skills Assignment', 'Manage Capabiilities' and 'Help a Client Register' pages did
not conform to this standard. This is because elements on these pages contained roles that were
not placed inside their required contexts. Fourty seven instances whereby roles were not placed
within their required contexts were flagged during this accessibility test.
- 4.1.2 Name, Role and Value
Seven instances whereby inline frames were missing text alternatives were flagged up during the
accessibility test on the vacancy registration wizard.
During the past couple of years, massive efforts have been put in to ensure that
our portals are as accessibility friendly and compliant with standards as possible. This can be
evidenced through the work we've done to fix these types of issues that have cropped up in the past
on other pages. To fix these issues that have been flagged, both parties will need to make a
concerted effort to agree on a date to fix them. Once agreed upon and arranged, these issues
can be added to our development schedule and be fixed in anticipation for this agreed date.
